International delegates from Chengdu Chronic Disease Hospital

With the Chinese Government introducing a nationwide policy to integrate the aged care and healthcare sectors, the country has a huge demand for skilled care workers in this industry. By 2020, it is predicted that there will be 1.4 billion residents in China, and it requires a workforce of 10 million to care for this projected elderly population of 248 million in 2020. However, the Chinese aged care system is still in its infancy, and the Chinese are exploring aged care models to drive value and improvisations in care delivery standards in China.

HGT Australia currently has a senior delegation from the Chengdu Chronic Disease Hospital in Newcastle scheduled for an international tour of the Health care industry- aged care facilities, hospitals and medical research institutes. This makes an important development in a Sino-Australia collaboration for this rapidly developing industry and importantly positions Newcastle as a destination for key industry, education and research practices.

The delegates are scheduled to visit Calvary Cessnock Retirement Community, Kilpatrick Court, Scenic Lodge, Jesmond Grove and Tinonee Gardens, Hunter Medical Research Institute, The University of Newcastle (Faculty of Health and Medicine), John Hunter Hospital and Lingard Private Hospital, and several other facilities. We are very much pleased to inform that all the organizations are willing to host the delegates.
