Student Visa and Health Cover
If you intend to study in Australia, you will require a student visa. As a student visa holder, you are required to have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of your studies. Studying in Australia require that you pay for your OSHC when you pay for your tuition fees. This will ensure that you have health cover upon arrival in Australia. In 2016, the cost for standard OSHC is approximately A$600 per year per single student and A$3,009 per year for a student with a family. The cost of OSHC will depend on the type of cover you need.
